I'd really like people to replay back to this:

Can people *please* give me some feedback about what they would like to see implemented in the upcoming 0-6-7, 0-6-8, etc releases? I am not quite sure what to put in, and I would really like input from others.

This will all be collected and then put into the roadmap, which can be seen here:

0-6-8 cool.gif complete compatibility with whatever the next finalized Win platform specs turn out to be (don't know any of the details, just that every newsgroup I look at someone is bitching about it)

Can you show some links ?
Thanks

I'll look. Notably I remember discussion on borland.cppbuilder.non-techncal, but will have to search as they are old enough they aren't showing in my newsreader anymore.

But, I point you to an MSDN site:
Chapter 4: Recommendations for Win32, ActiveX, and "Longhorn"

Written by a microsoft guy, it sounds very cheery and as if there will be no problems. but, I'm skeptical when someone writes "While most existing Win32-based applications should continue to work normally in "Longhorn," ......". Note the "should". I would interpret that to mean "will work with minimal required changes", at best. smile.gif

Like I said, i don't know any of the details (I figured you and Jim already knew of possible problems). But, thinking about it, it probably really won't be an issue until about 0.8.6 instead of 0.6.8

Will look and report back with some links.

Yeah I'd take that all with an *extreme* grain (or perhaps gallon might be a more appropriate form of measurement) of salt. It's in their (MS) best interest to pretend that this will all go smoothly and without a hitch, when history shows that is almost never the case, at least with anything software related.

Plus, until we get our hands on Longhorn and stable API's it's all a moot point.
