I have a problem installing VCF with the win32 source installer program. It seems that some docs integration options for VS7, 8 and 2005 Express are inseparably bound together. This creates a problem for a user like me who has 2005 Express but not VS7. I WANT the 2005 Express help integration so I check the "MSHelp2 Help integration for Visual Studio 7/8/2005 Express" in the wizard, but then the installer seems to REQUIRE that I have VS7 installed. It throws an error at me saying that VC7.1 installation can't be found.
How can I request installing the VS8 integration WITHOUT requesting VS7 integration? I don't know if the installation process is properly finished when the installer bails out after failing to find VS7. This is a real showstopper. Can I expect a hotfix soon? |
